Studio News...Who's Ready To Dance?!

Delaware County Performing Arts 2020 – 2021 Season

Protocols for Operations, Sanitizing, and Social Distancing

General Guidelines and Information:

  • Teaching artists, staff, and students must stay home if they are feeling ill, displaying symptoms of COVID 19 in the past 14 days.
  • Typically, we love people hanging out at DCPA but these are crazy times, so no parents or family members will be allowed in the building during class times
  • Due to health concerns and sanitation, lost and found items will be discarded at the end of each night. We do not anticipate many lost and found items due to how dancers will be storing their belongings (individual bins provided by the studio)

Drop Off | Pick Up Procedures:

  • Dancers will arrive at DCPA in their dance clothes. Dressing room is closed
  • Students will be dropped off at the door of the dance studio. At the door, they will have their temperatures taken and be given hand sanitizer
    • Taking temperatures at home is strongly recommended
    • Dancers with a temperature of 100 degrees F or more will not be allowed to take class
  • Please don’t arrive at the door too early. Students will not be allowed in the building until 5 minutes before the start of their class
  • We love all of you,  but unfortunately no parents or family members will be allowed in the lobby.
  • For pickup, students will be released through out side entrance to avoid congestion

Masks | Face Coverings

  • All teachers and staff must wear face coverings at all times
  • Let’s ALL wear masks for drop off and pick up. That means that all dancers, parents, and siblings must all mask up, making sure that both noses and mouths are covered (it doesn’t count if your nose is hanging out!)
  • Dancers will remain fix feet apart in taped off boxes
    • Students wearing masks while dancing will be discussed by teachers and parents
    • We strongly encourage students to wear masks in class
  • Students must wear masks when leaving the studio for any reason, including when leaving the studio

Dance Class Protocol

  • Class sizes will be limited to allotted 6 foot squares in each of the studios
  • Zoom classes will be available for anyone who chooses online classes
  • Dancers will only bring their dance shoes, one REUSABLE water bottle, and their masks to class (ideally in a small bag)
    • These will remain in each students’ bin
  • There will be limited physical contact

Cleaning

  • Between classes, rooms will be sanitized unless the same students are in class for multiple classes
  • The studio will deep cleaned at the end of every night
  • Bathrooms will be cleaned each hour
